The global educational landscape has been significantly shaped by international policies and agreements aimed at standardizing teaching practices and improving educational outcomes. These global initiatives often influence local teacher training programs, creating both opportunities and challenges in their implementation. The impact of these policies on local educational systems is multifaceted, involving curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and teacher professional development. This paper explores the extent to which global educational policies affect local teacher training programs, particularly in developing countries. It examines the alignment between international policy frameworks, such as the UNESCO Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) goals, and the practical realities of teacher education at the local level. Key themes include the adaptation of global standards to local contexts, the role of government agencies in policy implementation, and the effectiveness of teacher training programs in equipping educators with the necessary skills and knowledge. Additionally, the paper investigates how global policies can enhance or hinder educational equity and quality in various socio-economic settings.
